Fashion or Politics? Luxury Retailers Cut Ivanka Trump Line

Not sure if luxury retailers are giving in to pressure from the ‘#GrabYourWallet’ campaign – a movement organised by an anti-Trump activist group.

Nordstrom announced in a statement that it will no longer stock Ivanka Trump’s line, emphasising its decision is not ‘political’ but based on poor sales.
They will be discontinuing the line for the upcoming season, stating that that their product range is routinely reassessed. Nordstrom has stocked the brand since 2011.
A spokesperson for Nordstrom said

“Reviewing the products’ merit and making edits is part of the regular rhythm of our business. Each year we cut about 10 percent and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season”.

In addition, Neiman Marcus has reportedly pulled Ivanka Trump’s jewellery line from website (we’ve checked – it’s not there)
Canadian retailer Shoes.com was the first retailer to drop the Ivanka Trump label, followed by Nordstrom.
