Review: Shaka Zulu, Camden

Horrendously overpriced with possibly the worst service in London, Shaka Zulu’s only appeal is its grand décor…

The 20 ft tall statue of a Zulu warrior outside the restaurant is formidable yet impressive, but that’s the least of it. Covering the ceiling and walls in homage to South Africa, are countless wooden carvings of animals and animist statues, while gigantic spear-wielding warriors are spread about. The 20 ft Zulu statue outside suddenly seems reserved and modest by the standards of the interior.

Review: The Bateaux London Dinner Cruise Experience

First impressions. The Symphony Vessel is astonishingly spacious and furnished with elegant but neutral décor. The on-water restaurant was dimly lit for the ambiance with background music performed by a live band. On boarding, as part of the Premier Dinner Cruise package we were welcomed with a complimentary glass of sparkling Rosé. Ed, the charming (and good-looking) waiter who serviced our table, made sure we were relaxed as we set sail on to the river Thames. As the sun set and the city lit up, our experience of the Symphony cruise commenced.

In celebration of everything food, Fashion Forte were invited to a cooking demo and intimate dinner with Chef Richard Corrigan in Stratford for London Food Month. Richard Corrigan is a Michelin Star award-winning chef and proud owner of Bentley’s Oyster Bar and Grill. In June, Corrigan took centre stage at the launch of Westfield Stratford City’s Food Truck Festival in front of an audience in the ‘Grundig Kitchen’.
